Here is an update from mom about how dad is doing at home!! He is doing quite great and I think all of us would agree he is a very delightful patient :)
Thought you might like to hear how things are going at this Patterson household.
Curt is doing great. He has been to cardiac rehab two times now, Tuesday morning and this morning. He has very little pain, more discomfort than anything. He has decreased his pain pills, taking just a very moderate amount.
He gets up and showers upstairs every morning. Needs a little help getting dressed. He comes out to the table to eat, actually has a pretty good appetite. Tonight he is going to try to sleep in bed. He tried it Monday night but had to get up after a few hours. He has been sleeping in a recliner in the living room.
They said he can go out if he feels up to it. Sunday he went to school and walked for 10 minutes, it also let me pick up some stuff I needed. He has been to church to walk and to the office two times. One for 10 minutes to "just check the mail" and a little bit longer today. It may not sound like it but he has really been behaving and following doctors orders. The kids have been providing wonderful day time care.
Home health care has been here two times. Both of them were amazed with his progress. They said they probably would not be coming very long.
Monday I went back to school for my first full day. It is a little overwhelming to try to get caught back up. I did go to his first rehab Tuesday and will be taking off to go to doctors appointments, cardiac education, etc.
Right now we are just taking one day at a time. Fortunately each day he is getting stronger and closer to a full recovery. We feel very blessed!
